Why UK homes get damp
Around 80% of UK housing was built before modern insulation standards — solid brick walls, single-pane windows and almost no built-in ventilation. In winter, cold external walls meet warm, moist indoor air from cooking, showers and breathing, and the moisture has nowhere to go but onto your windows and walls.
