Compressor vs desiccant: which type suits your flat?

Compressor dehumidifiers are cheaper to run and perfect for heated living spaces above 15°C. Desiccant models cost a bit more in electricity but keep working in cold rooms, garages and unheated conservatories. If you're treating a single warm bedroom, go compressor; if it's a cold spare room, go desiccant.

What size dehumidifier do I need?

For a 1-bed flat, a 10L unit is plenty. For 2-bed flats with a real damp problem, step up to a 12L. Reserve 16L and bigger for whole-house duty or persistent ground-floor damp.
